Why hello there! It has been a while, but I promise I have a perfectly good reason. I moved house last weekend, and there’s been a lot of stress, dust, and general disorientation. I haven’t been paying as much attention to my skin, and it shows in the form of breakouts and dehydration. Combine this with a record heatwave here in the UK and things ain’t looking so pretty.
Over the last few days, though, I’ve started to make a real effort again. I managed to locate all my skincare products(which were somehow spread out in 2 boxes, a suitcase and a Sainburys carrier bag) so I thought I’d share my skincare SOS routine to help get things back on track.
The Body Shop tea tree oil
I first tried this when I got a sample at the Body Shop blogger event I went to a couple of months ago. It is hands-down the best spot treatment I have tried – and I have tried a few! It’s not a miracle worker and isn’t going to make your spots disappear overnight (what can, really?) But it does stop them from getting worse, reduces redness and doesn’t dry out your skin in the process. I use a couple of drops on a cotton bud and dab it on to the affected area. It’s not greasy, but it’s not too watery, either. If you’re looking for a natural way to keep your breakouts under control, I highly recommend this one.
On a related note, I also use the foaming facial wash and it’s great, too.

Dr Botanicals moroccan rose superfood facial oil
I’m usually really good when it comes to moisturising my skin, and during the winter I put enough to look like a happy grease-ball. But it has been over 25 degrees every day for the last month and a half, and I’ve not been moisturising as much as I should. It’s just hard when you’re already a sweaty mess five minutes after a shower! This is where this little product comes in. It’s a lightweight oil, but it provides all the hydration my thirst skin needs right now. It almost feels like a serum in consistency, and I just dab it lightly all over my face with my fingers. A little goes a long way too, so it’s going to last me a long time.

Your Good Skin purifying treatment mask
I picked up this mask on a whim from Boots, and I am so glad I did! It’s a clay mask that isn’t too harsh or drying on the skin, so perfect if your skin is prone to sensitivity or irritation. It goes on really well, and afterwards my skin feels soft, smooth and clean. After all the packing and moving, my skin was in dire need of some deep cleaning and this has done the job perfect. I *might* have kept it on about 15 minutes longer than I was supposed to – oops – but it didn’t cause any issues! Am I the only one who does this?

The Body Shop Amazonian acai radiance mask
To round off my skincare SOS kit, a second mask that’s really more of a treatment. This mask looks like jam, smells bloody amazing and does a fantastic job of bring the glow back to my skin. I use it whenever my skin is feeling tired or dull, and it goes on like a dream. I usually keep it on for about 15-20 minutes and gently wash it off. Because of its colour, it looks a little terrifying when you have it on, but worry not! Your skin will be soft, smooth and glowy when it’s done.

I hope you’ve liked reading this! Have you tried any of these products or do you have any skincare SOS favourites of your own? Please let me know, I’m going to be indulging in a lot of TLC in the coming weeks. Once I have unpacked of course, but let’s not focus on that for now 😉
