Over the last month of so, I’ve made a few cheap and cheerful spring additions to my wardrobe. When it comes to shopping, I’m not one to buy a whole new set of clothes EVERY new season. And lately, I’m trying to organise my wardrobe so that I make the best use of the clothes I already own. Having said that, I felt I was lacking in a few everyday t-shirts. I was on the lookout for two things when it came to the tops – stripes and yellow, and I think I managed pretty well on both counts! I also picked up a couple of pairs of shoes and a lovely little pair of denim dungarees.
Before we begin, I just wanted to say – I was ready to take my tripod outside and take photos of all of these clothes with me in them. And then the heavens opened and suddenly that wasn’t an option anymore. So we’ll have to make do with them artfully laid out on my floor. Also, in the spirit of full disclosure, most of the links below are affiliate links. Anyway, enough babbling. Let’s take a look, shall we?
Black and white T-shirt | Bershka at ASOS | £6.99
I am in love with this super cute striped top. It’s such a bargain for £6.99, but it feels and looks like it’s really good quality. I love the pop of red on the collar, and it looks great with both dark and light wash jeans. Equally, it went really well with my black denim skirt as well. And because it’s black and white, it’s versatile enough to not be restricted to any one season. I bought it in a size 10, and it has a relaxed fit, which is just the way I like it.
Tan leather belt | ASOS | £12.99
I had been on the lookout for a tan belt for AGES before I found this one. Everything I had come across before this was either studded, or too narrow, or too dark or light. This one is the perfect colour, and I love the way it looks paired with the striped top. I bought it in a size small.
Jeans | Primark | £12.99
I don’t usually buy my jeans at Primark because I find that their denim doesn’t have a whole lot of denim – if that makes sense? Probably not. Basically I like my jeans to be thicker. But when I was in there last weekend, I saw these on display for only £12.99 and thought why not? They’re called the ‘Super skinny’ and for once, that actually holds true for me. I have fairly skinny calves, and most jeans end up looking a little baggy there but these fit perfectly. I also like the dark wash colour, and thought they would be a good all-year round pair of jeans. I got them in a size 10.
No link, unfortunately, because it’s Primark!
White ballet flats | Primark | £4
I NEVER spend a lot of money on my ballet flats because I know they’re not going to last me more than a couple of years. I wear them pretty much non-stop during spring, summer and early autumn, and because I walk so much, they end up getting worn out. I didn’t have a pair of white ones, and these ones from Primark are so pretty with a little lace detail that stops them from looking too plain. I got my regular shoe size, which is a 4.
Again, no link here, sorry!
The other stuff
Dungarees | Primark | £14
I ALWAYS tell myself I’m going to buy myself a pair of dungarees every summer and then for some reason, decide not to. Not this year, though! These dungarees were a steal at £14, and I love the light wash on them. I also love that they’re distressed, but not too much. I’m all for rips and tears but when there’s more holes than there is fabric, I tend to take a step back. I can’t wait to wear this when the sun (eventually) comes back out!
Multi-coloured striped tee | Monki at ASOS | £8.00
These is something so deliciously retro about the colours in this striped tee, and I love it. It fits like a glove, and the mix of colours make it work wonderfully with either gold or silver jewellery (or hardware on bags). And it was only £8 – such a bargain!
Mustard Voila slogan tee | New Look | £7.99
Confession time – this is the first slogan tee I have bought. EVER. And it’s a French word. AND it’s yellow. Man, talk about jumping on the 2018 trend bandwagon, huh? I really do like it though, and it fits in with me trying to incorporate more colour into my wardrobe. Now all I need is a cheeseplant in the corner and a basket bag and I’ll be set, huh?
White t-shirt | New Look at ASOS | £5.99
White t-shirts are pretty self-explanatory, so the only thing I can add to this is that contrary to what’s on the website – this is actually white, not off-white.
Nude trainers | ASOS DESIGN | £12.00
These trainers are one of my favourite purchases in this haul. I know nude/dusty rose coloured trainers are having a moment right now, but I didn’t fancy forking up the £££ for a pair from Reebok or Adidas. These are only £12.00 and are so cute and very comfortable! The only thing I would be wary of is checking that it’s not going to rain before you venture out in these. The colour plus the material means that they won’t be the easiest to clean. Other than that though, couldn’t be happier with them. I’ve been wearing them everywhere! With boots and shoes, I tend to size up, so I got a size 5.
The other stuff
The lipstick in the post is Notting Hill Nude from Rimmel. The Milani blush is one of my favourites, Berry Amore. The other blush is a limited edition Pixi one that I can’t find the link for, unfortunately.
I hope you enjoyed reading this post! What did you think of my picks? And what have you been buying lately? Let me know in the comments! 🙂
