Following on from last week’s spring themed post, I’ve got another one for you! This one’s all about my favourite spring perfume fragrances. Yes, I know there is still snow on the ground (??!!) but I’m choosing to ignore that and pretend like it’s blue skied and sunny outside.
When it comes to perfume, I have a fair few in my collection but it’s not out of control (yet). So if for some reason I feel like grabbing a fresh, citrusy number in the middle of November, I won’t think twice about it. Having said that though, there are a few that I reach for more when the seasons start to change. I think most of us prefer lighter, breezier scents in the warmer months, and I have a lot of these. They make great day fragrances, are great for work, and I’m able to layer them a lot more easily. Scents are also such amazing triggers, that they often have a happy holiday or memory associated with them. And who doesn’t want that?
I’ve got three favourites in this post. I’ve included the official notes each one, and a little review. So let’s jump in!
Chloé Eau de Parfum (original)
Top notes: Peony, Freesia, Litchi
Middle notes: Rose, Lily, Magnolia
Base notes: Amber, Cedar
This perfume is one of my all-time favourites. I know it’s one of those fragrances that you’ve heard everything and their mother talk about, but there is a reason and it is a compelling one. It is fresh, feminine, floral but not little-girlish. It stays on all day, and it only takes a couple of spritzes to achieve that. Although rose is a middle note, I smell it instantly, and I love that. It seems to actually get stronger as the day goes on, but it is never cloying or sickly sweet. I’ve tried out the Love Story variant of this perfume, but I much prefer the original.
If you’re after spring in a bottle, this is all you’re going to need.
The bottle is iconic, and looks so pretty on my dressing table. The sliver finish on the bottle has tarnished (you can see it in the photo) but I don’t mind it. It adds to the vintage look of it! I’ve got the 75ml bottle, and you can see that I have barely made a dent in it (despite using it for over a year!). That’s the other great thing about this perfume – because you need so little, it lasts forever.

Top notes: Bergamot
Middle notes: Ylang Ylang, Lily, Orange Blossom
Base notes: Amber, Sandalwood, Vanilla
Gucci Bamboo is a more “grown-up” spring fragrance. It has a lot of floral notes in it, but I am not able to discern any one of them in particular. I think this is what makes it smell a little more sophisticated.
The woody notes in it actually make it a great all-year perfume, although the freshness in it works especially well during springtime. I love wearing it to work, because even though it is pleasant and fresh it is not overbearing or aggressive. In terms of longevity, it isn’t the most long-lasting, and I find that I need to reapply it after a few hours. It wears off evenly though.
Less ‘picnic in the park’ and more ‘rosé during our lunch hour’.
The bottle is beautiful, and the perfume itself has a slight lilac tinge to it. I’ve got the 50ml version, and I find myself reaching for it all the time.

DKNY Golden Delicious
Top notes: African Orange Flower, Red Apple, Plum
Middle notes: Rose, Lily of the Valley, Orchid, Lily
Base notes: Teakwood, Sandalwood, Musk
This perfume holds a special place in my heart because it is the fragrance I wore on my wedding day. It is not as well known as its sister, Be Delicious, but in my opinion it is better. It’s got apples in the notes, name and bottle, but the funny thing is that I don’t get a pure apple scent coming through.
It’s also a really uplifting fragrance. Spritzing it on just puts me in a better mood, and I love when a perfume is able to do that. It also lasts a really long time on my skin. I’ve had this little 30ml bottle for a long time, and it’s still going strong!
They’ve done a really good job of blending the fruitiness with the floral, so you get a really seamless fragrance.
DKNY is also quite affordable as far as fragrances go, so I highly recommend giving this a try. You won’t regret it!

I hope you enjoyed reading this post about my spring perfume favourites, and that you found it useful! Have you tried any of these fragrances? Or do you have any recommendations for me? Let me know!
