Mascara review: Maybelline Push Up Angel
Happy Wednesday, everyone! Today I have a quick review of my favourite mascara – the Maybelline The Falsies Push Angel mascara. There’s a mouthful, eh?
Before we get started, I have a confession: I have never been much of a mascara person. I have very dark eyes and eyebrows, and although my lashes aren’t the longest, I’ve never felt the need for mascara. Having said that though, I do like the way mascara looks on me once it’s on! 🙂 Because of this, I haven’t been loyal to any brand of mascara, and usually just grab whatever’s on offer at Boots. Until now.
I have repurchased this mascara FOUR times. I first tried it out because of a product test I was doing where I received it for free, and I fell in love with it.
The Push Up Angel mascara claims to mimic the look of falsies. If you put enough coats of it on, it does do that, but I usually just wear one coat. This is what it looks like before and after:
I have the regular, non-waterproof version called ‘Very Black’. Now let’s look at the brush:
Kind of weird, right? I thought so too! I was so used to “false-lash effect” mascaras having big, fluffy brushes that this little thing took me by surprise. But it is exactly this brush that makes putting on this mascara so easy. Because of it’s size, I’m able to really work the mascara in into the roots of my lashes. It defines, lengthens and separates, and allows you to go back to do one, two or three coats on without it clumping. I wore this over the weekend and true story, my husband asked if I was wearing false lashes. That never happens!
The brush also makes it easy to apply it on your bottom lashes. I don’t tend to do that, but it’s handy to have anyway. And although mine isn’t waterproof, I have never had any issues with it smudging or running on me.
I hope you have found this review useful! Have you tried this mascara? Or you do have a favourite that you swear by? I’d love to know!
